Set up Printing on a Mac
When you use server printing, you bypass papercut and whatever you print will immediately come out of the printer you send it to. In most cases, we recommend using papercut instead - this is more secure, fault-tolerant, and sustainable.
Set up server printing on a mac
Make sure you're connected to EDUROAM or an Ethernet cable/your dock on campus before proceeding with this setup.
Select the "Advanced" tab (if you don't see advanced, then right click a blank space in the "tab area" and select "customize toolbar";
you may need to right-click one of the existing icons to see the "customize toolbar" menu item)
- Select the type as "Internet Printing Protocol (ipps)"
- Enter the URL as
ipps://supernode-02:443/printers/<PRINTER_NAME>/.printer- *Replace <PRINTER_NAME> with the printer's shared name (Ex. LIB1-ColorSand); it should look like this:
- ipps://supernode-02:443/printers/LIB1-ColorSand/.printer
- *Replace <PRINTER_NAME> with the printer's shared name (Ex. LIB1-ColorSand); it should look like this:
- Enter the printer's name
- "Use" should be set to Generic PostScript Printer
- Click Add
